Why Now?

We've been quiet here since we restored and released Calm Before the Storm in 2022, and finished the filming and production of the mini-documentary Rock Time in Your Town early the next year. Our intention was to package it up and pitch it to a streaming service. That is a pretty detail oriented bit of extra work when you finish a film, and we all got busy with other projects and life.

After letting it sit for too long, we would rather you be able to see and share the movie as we made…

It's here and it's happening! We are ready and excited to unveil the other treasure from our miracle time capsule. Rock Time in Your Town is ready to roll out to our family, friends, fans and followers. We kick off the schedule with a special advance premiere event for all of our campaign contributors next Sunday, March 12.

We believe passionately that our common but rarely publicized "everyband" story deserves to be told, as it overlaps with the experience of countless musicians and music fans. We are so close to being able to do it, and do it "Nor'easter good" - a very high standard we set for ourselves.

If you've seen our social media feed over the last week, you've known something was up. The three surviving members of Nor'easter actually being together, knowing that one lives in New Hampshire, another in Tennessee and the 3rd in Virginia, would be a very special occasion. 

2022 has already been an epic year for us - to see the album the 3 founding members recorded in 1989 released and enjoyed in far-flung corners of the world is simply still beyond our wildest dreams. But indeed, there…

What a great way to roll into the winter, sharing our rather incredible story around the world thanks to knowledgeable and interested podcasters and radio hosts. We're thrilled that Andrew McKnight and Chris Gursky have had the opportunity to introduce a lot of hard rock and heavy metal enthusiasts to our music.

We've been clear from the beginning that restoring and releasing Calm Before the Storm was the "one big thing,"  a labor of love and legacy for our fallen comrade Matt Bouley. Our time came and went, and that would have been that - nothing but memories so long as memories live on - had it not been for the existence of the tapes we recorded two years after our final show.

In August Andrew sat for another interview with writer Jan Mercker for the local independent Loudoun Now to talk about the Nor'easter project. Two and a half years ago Jan had done a lovely feature story on Andrew's Treasures in My Chest album and book in advance of his release concert; a week before the world shut down.

We’ve celebrated the three founding members birthdays this year with special milestones. On singer Chris Gursky‘s (on L) April 4th birthday, we dropped our first single “The Chemical Zone.” On the late Matt Bouley’s birthday May 23rd, we celebrated his legacy by sharing the entire album for the first time end to end in a livestream on YouTube. 

And for guitarist Andrew McKnight‘s (on R) birthday on July 25th, he and Chris met up in the White Mountains at the campground where they’d met as teenagers to sign…

The summer of ’22 will be memorable for lots of things, but for us it is the completion of a 33-year journey! Calm Before the Storm is at long last fully produced and available in digital and disc formats.
