Why Now?
We've been quiet here since we restored and released Calm Before the Storm in 2022, and finished the filming and production of the mini-documentary Rock Time in Your Town early the next year. Our intention was to package it up and pitch it to a streaming service. That is a pretty detail oriented bit of extra work when you finish a film, and we all got busy with other projects and life.
After letting it sit for too long, we would rather you be able to see and share the movie as we made it, without the bells and whistles for the algorithm-driven streaming services that don't matter to the viewers at all. So we're sharing it with a premiere countdown on our YouTube channel Friday August 28th, 2026 at 6pm Eastern.
Rock Time tells our chapter of a common but rarely heard story about the countless bands that take their shot and ultimately fall short. Engineer Dustin DeLage has done incredible work restoring the video from the original VHS tape that was lost for 35 years!
And what's in the movie, you ask? Three full live Nor'easter performances from their final show at a street festival, May 2, 1987. Interviews with the three surviving members. The story of the miracle recovery and restoration of those precious 8-track reels that held the best performances of our music. There is also a wealth of old photos and other archival material to weave together a compelling story you may want to see more than once. It's 33 minutes of hard rocking, laughs, fine memories and poignant moments, and most of all, Matt.
The whole event will last about 35-40 minutes, and you can interact with us throughout via the Live Chat; simply log into your Google properties like Gmail, YouTube or Google Drive to join the chat. Andrew, Chris and Paul are all planning to be there too.
We are thrilled for you to see & experience our film; especially if you missed our two screenings back in 2023, join us tomorrow. It will be on YouTube permanently after the premiere at https://youtu.be/kVT5OV00kx4. It's been a long time, and it's great to have some very visceral and well-packaged musical memories to share with you.
And yes, thanks for subscribing to our channel while you're there. You never know what else we might have up our sleeves or in the treasure box.
